The garden is not the only cute thing here. Niether is the house the only old thing. I haven't heard a computer dial into the network in ages. Natsukashii! I wrote up a post on my laptop yesterday, but this computer doesn't have a USB port . . .
So, updates will be slow, but I don't know how I could be happier. I went for a walk this morning (after sleeping for 13 1/2 hours!!!!) and the place is so beautiful! I crossed into Basel (out of Binningen) and wham! I was in the city with traffic and noise and all the rest. Where I live it is houses and trees and forests and farms and QUIET! Veronika has been so good to me making sure I have everything and going out of her way to help me. I registered at Binningen today and this time it was all in German. My German is rusty, but Veronika speaks clearly and she is great at guessing what I mean and is also good about helping me with corrections, but not making a big deal of it. I don't know how much internet costs, so I better not go on and on. I'm looking into how to get high speed put in, but I'm not sure when that will happen.
I get to see the Bloms tomorrow and Mary is so excited to see me. It's nice to have such a warm welcome! It will be lovely to sing with church folks again. I was quite sad the day before I left, but I am just enjoying mz new place. BTW, the address is a bit wrong, the 'n' in the street name should be an 'r', but I think this update is coming before most of you have goetten the address in the first place. And now I know why it is better to type slowly without mistakes. With dial-up, backspace takes time!!!
That is all for now. Thanks for your parayers. I shouldn't be surprised that God has blessed me so well, but He has done so many little things and big things that I just feel so lucky, though of course that's the wrong word. He can give and he can take, but I'm going to enjoy it while He is entrusting me with so much! There's no spell check here. Now I am really shoing mz true colors . . .
Love to you all.

Janet is back in Basel! She took the train from Zurich and was met at the station by her new hostess. Her home is lovely, with a garden of vegetables and fruit and nut trees, and some wild areas. There's a forest nearby. Her room as a wonderful view of an old cherry tree. Her hostess fixed a delicious lunch, and after an unplanned and unexpected nap Janet is trying to stay awake till after dinner.
The only drawback is that her hostess has only dial-up Internet, so posts from Janet will probably be sort and infrequent until she finds an alternative. In the meantime, I'll make what updates I can.
Thanks for your prayers!Permalink | Read 359 times | Comments (0)
