So after posting all my updates at Valda’s she invited me to a pumpkin meal at Richard’s.  Since it was nearly nine I said I had better not.  Veronika would be waiting for me.  I was a good girl and didn’t change my mind. ;)  I didn’t go with Valda and I didn’t enjoy a delectable pumpkin soup and fun company.  I did get drunk.

And I didn’t remember to call Veronika so she wouldn’t worry.  That didn’t give me the opportunity to stay out late.  We didn’t enjoy the tasty pumpkin pie that took a bit longer than expected to cook.

We didn’t have ice cream with the pie.

Believe it or not, I regretted every minute of it.

So much for trying to be funny.  It really was a lovely time and I didn’t sleep in too late today anyway.  I had breakfast with Veronika for the first time, did my Egoscue, then a friend came to visit and we had the mostly lovely lunch together.  I somehow managed to cook some of it per Veronika’s instructions, or lack of direction thereof.  They spoke high German for me and I could follow a great deal of it, though my vocabulary is still lacking.  I used my arms as an excuse not to play my fiddle and therefore learned that Veronika is has massage training!  Oh boy, what a place God’s given me!  The wonderful thing is Veronika seems as happy to have me as I am to be here.

The weekend is over and I must do all those dirty jobs of shopping and setting things up and getting all my ID’s and technical duties done.  That part of moving to a new country really stinks, but hopefully it will be over soon.

I'm not at all gratified to see that you have such great friends there. This post in no way made me want some pumpkin pie. And I'm not the least bit curious what your shirt says in sign language.

I'm not in the least bit delighted to hear from you. The shirt is a blessing with fingers crossed. There is no way that it simply stands for 'U' 'R' as in University of Rochester.

God bless you, Andy, for understanding and appreciating our lovely daughter's crazy sense of humor. Of course, having met your family, I shouldn't be surprised. ;)

Can you identify who is who in the pictures, or just the last picture, please?

Permission granted post-hoc to plagiarize the blessing with fingers crossed explanation. ;-)

Good thing I knew nothing about the pumpkin soup do, or I might have tried to crash the party instead of getting an early night like I'm glad I did. It's good we now have more guys to entertain the girls.

One guy to three girls is "more"? Must have been a nunnery before.

Not that I'm at all sure which end is up in this post....

Nunnery would be a nice way of putting it, but probably not far off, considering all the rampant chastity (which, by the way, WBAGNFARB).

ok, so my rss reader got Andy's comment before Janet's post, and I was thinking that some mean spammer was impersonating Andy. But I'm ok now. And Andy is back in my good graces. (:

Ha! I'm so proud of myself for figuring out WBAGNFARB! And yes. Yes it would.

I didn't enjoy any of the comments or sarcasm in this blog. Nice to know you had a good weekend Janet.
