Andy B., I now bestow the honorable title of "Andy" upon you since you have been so devoted to my blog. So as to avoid confusion, my dear brother Andy F. will now take on a last initial. I still think fondly of him and I was reminded of him today on the tram when a nice old man's cell phone rang with:
dah-di-dah-dit dah-dah-di-dah dah-di-dah-dit dah-dah-di-dah
Classic.
dah - deet - da-da-dee-da-da
dah-dah-DEET-da-da-da-duh-da-daaaah
Oh, wait, that's Axel F., not Andy F.

I hope everybody here is homestarliterate, otherwise the answering machine might be quite as funny. (A good way to begin is to get to the main screen, then click "First time here?")
I first heard of Homestar Runner in Japan. Christian couldn't believe my illiteracy and showed me this clip, which I found very funny. http://www.homestarrunner.com/sbemail57.html
Ah, I thought I was just being stupid, or it was a difference between American and European sense of humor, or something. I'll have to check out "First time here?" and see. I did laugh at answering machine message #1, though.
A very helpful resource in encountering the Homstarniverse is the Homestar Runner Wiki, www.hrwiki.org. (I'm an admin! Though much less active these days than I was a few years ago.)
I did a little more looking at Homestar Runner. Someone is having a lot of fun, and if not totally making a living at it, at least having it pay for itself. Most people's entertainment doesn't do that.
I'm still a generation or three behind, though.
