I leave early tomorrow for a short retreat in the mountains. I will return Sunday night. I plan to spend the first few days in Pontresina. I'm sorry I haven't written about my adventures up to now. I must make note on the train so I remember to write the interesting details. Until then, it will just be notes when I hit an internet spot. Peace!

I just looked Pontresina up in Google Earth (http://earth.google.com/--get it, it's so much more fun than just maps.google); it looks awesome just in a tiny 3D model!

I``m here in Pontresina. It turns out to be a famous resort town. Oops. My first plan fell t hrough, but I found a hostel with very welcoming fpeople. I got off t he train and went right to dinner. Yum! The mountains are beautiful, though I haven`t seen them in daylight yet. There are lots of hiking trails that will take me out of the touristy part, so I`m still happy! Internet is hard to come by, so I don`t know when I^ll write again, at least when I change places. Love to all!

I`m now in Chur, two hours from Pontresina. I plan to take a leasurly train ride back to Basel tomorrow, stopping at any place that looks interesting. I have had an amazing two days of hiking and mountain viewing. Wow! It is so beautiful in the Alps! Note to Mom: Anu has the information of where I`m staying, so not to worry. Now I`ll go get dinner and sleep! Hiking wears you out. Love, Janet

I'm back safe and sound despite having spent my last night in front of a few strip clubs . . . The weather turned bad so I decided to cut the visit short. It was a full and happy trip, though! Many details soon to come I hope. Thanks for your prayers!
