As I read 2 Peter this morning I was once again faced with difficult language. I grew up in a church that said God wills from before time that some people go to hell. Well, they wouldn't actually say this, but their theology implies it. I find that impossible to believe of a good, loving, merciful and just God described over and over again in the Bible. Yet I find language in the Bible that appears to confirm this horrifying belief of God’s arbitrary application of destiny. 2 Peter 2:8 is such an example. (More)
