It’s been a quiet week, if you don’t count panic trying to plan my arrival home and future life. I led the last mixed Sunday night Bible study June 4th. We’re returning to Monday night English Bible study next week. It was slightly more of a pain to bike to the Brown’s and back, but it’s still worth it even though the whole ordeal takes four or five hours of my day.Monday, June 5th, I had forty kids in each class rather than the normal twenty. I wasn’t exactly looking forward to it, but it worked out okay. Because of the schedule change that gave me 40 kids at a time I had no classes on Tuesday so I took the day off. I didn’t do anything special, just tried to get work done at home. I did spend a nice afternoon in the park observing nature and taking the time to notice things that I can’t when I’m busy. It makes me want to homeschool again. Oh to have the time to just sit and observe and pursue the questions that naturally flow from curiosity about the world around me. Unfortunately I had to go home and write a bunch of emails and try to figure out what I’m doing when I get back. There are simply too many choices in this world!

Wednesday, June 7th, I had planned to take the afternoon off since I had only one class at noon, but the schedule was changed for some reason so I had that class first period (good thing I hadn’t taken the morning off) so I left after first period! I have plenty of nenkyu left, so it’s nice to have an opportunity to use it. Armed with almost another full day to myself and my work I started with domestic chores then made a nice curry lunch and read the Willson Quarterly (it was vacation time after all). After lunch I tackled the long pressing problem of my pictures. I’ve been taking them, but I haven’t been labeling them or organizing them or putting them online. I knew it would take work, but seven hours later I’ve still only put up two new albums on Shutterfly. I labeled all the photos and organized them to a tolerable degree. I’ve yet to really figure out Shutterfly, but I’ve got it going okay. Check out pictures of My Apartment, and Shirane High School, and from Mom and Dad Visit Japan! More to come . . .

I feel rotten for having spent all day on the computer and none of it on emails or planning trip details, but my pictures have been on the “to do” list for about eight months, now! Of course the moral of every story is to never get behind. Well, yeah, at least my kitchen is still clean!

Enjoy the photos!
